Curley was once a human who worked as a miner in Butte, Montana. One day as he was working at the Berkeley Pit- an open pit copper mine, the pit suddenly filled with water which became a mile wide and over 900 feet deep. Curley was trapped at the bottom of the oozing sludge. The toxic swamp was heavily acidic, with a pH level of 2.5, and laden with heavy metals and dangerous chemicals such as arsenic, cadmium, zinc, and sulfuric acid. Poor Curley! All his friends were devastated at his untimely demise.
Then something strange occurred... not long thereafter, late at night, there were sightings of a green, slimy monster who came out of the pit- and wandered down Main Street. At first it was believed that the toxic water had contaminated the drinking water and caused mass hallucination, but when those responsible for the big hole on Butte’s terrain were found horrifically torn apart and a trail of their blood led to the Berkeley Pit, the town knew that there was a monster on the loose. Curley had returned to wreck havoc on those who caused his death as a human.
